The Summer 2014 course is nearing its end, and it's already time to plan for the next round!

"Online Games: Literature, New Media, and Narrative" is currently planned to begin anew in January 2015 (exact dates still pending).

We need officers and kinship members available to:

  • Assist new players in Lord of the Rings Online
  • Plan and run kinship and course-related events
  • Assist other students in completing in-game course assignments
  • Make sure kinhouse maintenance is paid
  • Keep our kinship active, fun, and welcoming to new and former Coursera students
  • Act in an official capacity as In-Game Mentors or Community TAs (application required).

If you enjoyed this course and plan on continuing to play LotRO with us, please consider volunteering to help with the next run of "Online Games". Our Coursera community is essential in the success of our kinship and the continuation of "Online Games: Literature, New Media, and Narrative". Let us know if you'll be available!

And if you would like to work with Professor Clayton in an official capacity as an In-Game Mentor or Community TA during the next class, send an email including your name, LotRO character name(s), and email address to tadegarbutterbottle at (this is so we can have all this information in one place to forward to Prof. Clayton, who will send and approve the applications).

Thanks for a great run, and I hope to continue seeing you in-game!

Welcome new members!

Please read our post about kinship chests and shared resources:

Additionally, we are in the process of planning events for the assignment due the second week of class. Please read the thread and answer the questions so that we know when best to plan our big event!

If you have any questions, please ask in the Coursera channel or send a /tell to Tadegar, Serattil, Azakah, or Champlin. See you in-game!
