Well, it's week 5 already (in three days from now we'll pass the 1 month marker... time indeed flies, the fool :) ).
This week the in-game assignment is Thadúr. It's part of the Great Barrow instance cluster (usually called GB in the game), meaning it's not in the open world like Weathertop was. As the syllabus says, you need to be level20 to be able to enter there. (it also says that you can postpone it until Aug. 24th if you're leveling slower, but I think there's a bigger chance to find a group for it this week, when everyone's chasing the assignment).
An another distinction from the previous week, for those who did the Weathertop quest on their own, with the buff: GB doesn't have a solo option. You need to go in there with a group. (you can do it alone, if you're high enough, say level 40-45 at least, but I think that won't apply to most of us...)
There's a shortcut for players below lvl20, they can be invited into the Barrow, but to be honest, I wouldn't suggest it below, I dunno, lvl16-17. The first part of GB (which you need to finish for gaining access to Thadúr, regardless of level) has a part where crawlers spawning and attacking random players. So even if you just tag along and stay in the back, at that point there's a chance you'll get attacked, and if the level is too low, maybe even die, before the others can pull the crawlers off of you.
What I want to say with this, now at the start of the week: while I'm sure there will be plenty of GB runs organised during the week (*), we should also help the lower level players to get at least into the level 17ish region, thus providing a safer journey into the Barrow.
* about the instance : GB is fun, it's the first group instance of the game, similar to the Weathertop quest last week, but it's not part of the Epic storyline. Meaning, it's optional, and also can run as many times as one wants. It gives you plenty of money, and some of the best level 20ish equipments. (Gameplay-wise that's the purpose of these instances, players usually run them a few times to get the best stuff they can achieve on that level. There's one instance in every 10 levels, more or less, for the best gear of that level range.)
GB has 3 parts, Thadúr is the second part. It needs a 6-man group of 20ish players, with wide array for balancing luckily. For example when Mothi run it for us, we have only 3 players in the group besides him (Loss was 24, Feliksa 22 and I was 26), but since Mothi was 68, that was more than enough for the success. In fact with a player above level 50 there's a good chance a lower level player could survive too.
If you're above 20, you can start a GB run yourself too, there's an LFF channel in game, if you post there that you plan to go in GB, you can find voulenteers outside of the kinship too. Just watch out for the classes: if all the 6 players are in the 20-30 range, then you will need at least a healer, and a good tank for a successful run. GB is the first place during your gameplay, where you need to start learning the group play part of the game: to assemble a group where everyone has a role, and working together as a team for the shared goal. It's great fun :)
edit: and re-edit: I was wrote in here earlier that probably it's enough just jump in a make a screnshot - well, turned out it's not. A latest note in the syllabus:
Explanatory Note #2: You do not need to post a screen shot or video for this game play assignment. There will be questions about your experience in the Great Barrow in the Distinction Track quiz
So, back to the first notion, let's help the lower level members to gain some levels during this week, so they could get some GB experiences.
